Born on this day in 1915, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, blues legend, Willie Dixon. Though he was born in Mississippi, Dixon moved to Chicago to become one of the biggest influences on the Chicago Blues Scene. His songs, recorded by Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley, to name a few, would become Chess Records‘ classics.
Dixon is an honored member of The Blues Hall Of Fame, The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and The Songwriters Hall Of Fame. He also received a Grammy for his his 1989 Lp, Hidden Charms.
