Ebsen is well-known for playing the part of Jed Clampett on The Beverly Hillbillies, but he had a long career as a song and dance man during Hollywood’s Golden Era. Ebsen was also slated to play The Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz, before an allergic reaction to the aluminum dust in the character’s makeup forced him to step down.
