Born on this day in 1945, in Chiswick, England, musician and songwriter, Pete Townshend, of The Who. Townshend wrote dozens of now-classic songs with that band, including; I Can’t Explain, Pinball Wizard, Who Are You, and Baba O’Reilly. At 77 years of age, he shows no signs of slowing down.
Pete Townshend was born on this day in 1945, in Chiswick, Middlesex, England. A founding member of The Who, whose classics “My Generation” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again” became anthems for a generation. Townshend’s rock operas Tommy and Quadropenia were both adapted for the big screen. He’s also a member of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
